Around our kitchen, we’ve started getting a produce box every other week. Is anyone else doing that? How is it working out for you? Is it changing the way you cook or eat?

It’s a little bit of an adventure not having control over what produce we get. But it’s also been good for us in that we are branching out to try new recipes and even new foods. Y’all. I swore this would never happen; I would have spit in your face over the mere suggestion. But. It is true. I am eating mushrooms. Did the earth shake a bit where you were? Cause it did over here.  They keep putting mushrooms in our produce box and I don’t want to waste them… so I’ve been trying them here and there in different recipes, and some are actually tolerable. Who would have thought??

We are also trying a variety of sweet potato, zucchini, and cauliflower recipes as those are regular guests in the box. As favorites develop, I’m sure they’ll make their way over here. Do you have favorites for these items? Do share!

Recently I went to blogging camp with Word Camp Miami, hosted by WordPress and a number of other fine folks. I learned a lot about blogging so I hope you like the updates and changes around here. One of the best parts of the conference was visiting with Pascal of Photography by Depuhl. He was making videos of folks talking about their websites, and I made a welcome video for Let There Be Food. Check it out!

Otherwise, I’ve taken to keeping up with The Splendid Table and cooking out of The River Cottage Veg cookbook over the last several months, in addition to The Test Kitchen and all things Food Network. So that’s where we’ve been. Tell me about your food-ventures! And don’t forget to vote! Happy eating!
